Benni Mini‘s Power: power is lead in the same class, but still need to pay attention to the weakness of low displacement
Mini cars generally do not have too many complicated electronic devices equipped with, transmission and suspension are based on relatively simply type of structure, engine can be described as the highest part of the entire vehicle technology which can most affect the daily driving. Benni Mini‘s equipped with a 1.0L four-cylinder (note:it’s not a three-cylinder) DOHC engine(code-named C10). In order to develop this engine CHANA has input 500 million RMB and three years.
In the aspect of kinetic parameter, the maximum power is 51.2kW/5600rpm, maximum torque is 90Nm/4600rpm, according to manufacturer information, it is the only 1.0L four cylinder engine that volume power has been breakthrough 51KW.
Benni MINI C10 engine has very satisfactory power performance by matching up with 5-speed manual gearbox. While manufacturer describes that 74Nm will be generated in 1500rpm, it can achieve 85% of its maximum torque in the range of 2000 ~ 5000rpm. But from the actual driving experience, it is more obvious that 2500rpm is power breaking point, Benni Mini’s power responsiveness is better in this range. 3 “full size” of the adults are sitting in the vehicle while our test drive on the road, but both start and high-speed process, Benni Mini can produce readily and completely inferior to A0-class compact hatchback speed performance.
Although Benni MINI power performance is pretty good, but the inherent low-displacement can not be ignored. Benni Mini would be more balanced and take care of power and fuel consumption in the range of 2500 ~ 3000rpm, but if it falls to 1500rpm, it could not speed up even if you stamp deep on the pedal.
[Because Benni MINI‘s low displacement, power output can be increased by boost revolution, which is one of the reason that the noise is higher than other model in same speed.]
In addition, except power performance, this C10 engine is also excellent in NVH, the entire vehicle has been taken measures on noise reduction in 30 places, actual feeling is really not bad. Relative to the noise I think users are more concerned with the durability and reliability of the engine, C10 in the development process not only in accordance with existing standards, the three were 400h, 300h, 600h the reliability of the test, but also in accordance with the standards of the German FEV was 800h variable reliability test conditions, the results are quite satisfactory.
